March 2008: Making Healthy Choices During Nutrition Month
A combination of poor eating habits and sedentary lifestyles can contribute to the onset of many chronic diseases including diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer.
The Eat Right Ontario call centre provides trustworthy nutrition information free-of-charge to all residents in the province. Ontarians can speak to a Registered Dietitian by calling 1-877-510-510-2 toll-free between 9:00AM and 5:00PM.
HealthyOntario.com features articles and self-health assessment tools in addition to the latest medical information and health care services provided by a range of experts and organizations that are focused on health and wellness.
Make a commitment to do something healthy each day and record your daily accomplishments on each square of the calendar – be sure to congratulate yourself along the way. Once you start eating nutritious, healthy food and increasing your daily activity, you’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll look and feel.
Changing old patterns is not easy at the start. Just do something new a few times and it soon becomes a healthy habit.
