Send a complaint letter to a business when you are not satisfied with a product or service you have purchased or leased and you want something to be done about it. Be specific about what you want from the business, whether it’s a discount, a coupon or something else.
As a consumer, you have the right to complain but keep in mind that you may not get what you want from the business. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Keep the letter brief and to the point. Be firm but polite.
- Type it, if possible, or make sure your handwriting is neat and easy to read.
- Keep a copy of the letter for yourself before sending it to the company in a form you can track (hand-deliver it with a witness, registered mail, e-mail or fax with confirmed delivery).
