Ministry Overview Statement
 

The Premier’s Office, the Government House Leader’s Office and Cabinet Office serve the people of Ontario in several different ways:

Premier’s Office

• provides support to the Premier in achieving results on the government’s priorities 

Government House Leader’s Office

• provides leadership for the implementation of the government’s legislative agenda 

Cabinet Office

• provides advice, critical analysis and support to the Premier, the Premier’s Office and the Government House Leader’s Office
• provides leadership to the Ontario Public Service in the implementation of the government’s priorities and promoting integration across central agencies and ministries in planning, policy development and communications
• facilitates decision making on policy, fiscal and communications issues

RESULTS-BASED PLAN 2006-07

The ministry will deliver on government priorities through responsible public service by means of the following key strategies:

Premier’s Office

• comprehensive advice and support for the Premier in his roles as President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Ontario Government

Government House Leader’s Office

• strategic leadership for the implementation of the government’s legislative agenda

Cabinet Office

• strategic leadership to support implementation of priorities and reporting progress on results
• high quality and relevant advice to inform policy and fiscal decision making
• centrally coordinated, coherent and strategic communications
• integrity and effectiveness of Cabinet decision making process

This is done in consultation and collaboration with line ministries, central agencies, as well as partners in other levels of government and the broader public sector.
