Programs and services for children with autism

Ontario provides a range of services and supports to children and youth with autism*.

From the time of diagnosis, right through their school years, Ontario is building and improving the range of services for young people with autism to meet their needs at every stage of development.

Children and youth do not stop receiving autism services just because they reach a certain age. This policy has been in place since 2005. The July 2006 Ontario Court of Appeal decision on the provision of services for children and youth with autism does not change this policy.

*On this website, autism refers to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). We are using the word "autism" for ease of readability.
