- In July 2008, there were 10,516,800 people of working age (15 years and over) in Ontario.
- There were 7,124,700 people in Ontario’s labour force according to Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey for July 2008. Thus, 67.7% of Ontario’s working age population was either employed or actively seeking employment. This percentage is also known as the labour force participation rate.
- As of July 2008, there were 6,668,800 people working in Ontario, 81% of them full time.
- At the same time, 455,900 people were unemployed. This represented an unemployment rate of 6.4% for Ontario in July 2008.
